This is one of the latest books launched by Subbu Publications. I had the privilege of reading the same during draft stage and hence, a brief review on this wonderful book. In most of the villages in southern part of India, we can find various forms of guardian devatas called Ayyannar, Karuppan etc. This book delves into the origins of these divine beings, how they came about to be guardian angels and more importantly the reason for their fierce forms. Often regarded as various manifestations of Bhairava, these devata forms are an integral part of our worship and day-to-day life. The entire history has been narrated in the form of a story that happens in a village when there is an extraordinary incident. I am not writing a detailed review as I have proof-read this.
Summary review : A tapestry of rich cultural and historical antiquity encompassing Hinduism, Buddhism, African, Greek and Chinese mythologies, woven brilliantly into a captivating tale about the guardian devata, Sangili Karuppaswamy by Acharya Sree Kumar. Divinely inspiring and captivating book.
I would definitely recommend this book very highly, for this topic is an essential part of Sanatana Dharma.
